Jumping at Hickstead - The Spring Show at Hickstead got underway yesterday, and British riders were in fine form. The first big class of the week, the 1.50m speed class, was won by Tina Fletcher riding her grey gelding, Lantano. Tina, who is in top form having won the 1.45m on Monday, now takes the lead in the coveted "Queens Cup" - a series of classes culminating in the highlight of the Hickstead season, the FEI Nations Cup on the weekend of the 27th of May. The 1.40m class saw a victory for another British rider, Robert Smith on his new ride, (Horse's Name Needed). This win comes just two weeks after Robert took over the ride on the horse from (Previous Rider's Name).
Dressage at Aachen - The CHIO Aachen has announced that the highly-anticipated CDI World Cup Freestyle class will be held on Saturday, May 5th. The star-studded line-up includes Olympic champion Anky van Grunsven and her beloved Bonfire. Anky will be hoping to continue her winning streak, having secured a victory at the recent Dressage World Cup Final in 's-Hertogenbosch.
Showjumping in Holland - The Global Champions Tour is making its way to Holland for the next leg, the GCT Valkenswaard, scheduled to take place from 27th - 29th of April. The course designer, Frank Rothenberger, has designed a demanding track with a host of difficult technical challenges, including an impressive triple combination. Riders will have to be on top of their game to navigate this tough track and secure their place at the top of the leaderboard.
North America
The Kentucky Three Day Event - It's the culmination of years of training and preparation for the top riders, and this year's event did not disappoint! The prestigious Kentucky Three Day Event saw a dominant display from Phillip Dutton and his impressive horse (Horse's Name).
