The Olympics Countdown:

The world is holding its breath in anticipation of the 2001 Sydney Olympics. With just under a year to go, preparations are in full swing, and equestrian teams from around the globe are focusing on honing their skills.

The British Equestrian Federation has been particularly busy in recent weeks, announcing their long list of potential Olympic riders across all disciplines: Dressage, Eventing, and Showjumping. While we won't see the final team selected until later in the year, the announcement has already ignited a frenzy of excitement amongst fans and hopeful riders alike.

Over in Germany, the reigning Olympic champion in Showjumping, Ludger Beerbaum, is already hitting the ground running with his top mount, Goldfever. Beerbaum is widely considered one of the most accomplished showjumpers of our time, and his competitive spirit and remarkable partnership with Goldfever promise an electrifying display in Sydney.

We also had the pleasure of hearing from Olympic hopeful, Andrew Hoy, fresh from his recent win at the Adelaide Horse Trials in Australia. Hoy, who holds the record for the most Olympic Games participation in eventing, says his preparations for Sydney are coming along well, but he remains determined to continue refining his horse's technique and focus.

The US Teams are Looking Strong

Across the pond, the United States is putting together impressive teams in both Eventing and Dressage. In Dressage, the team is headed by the renowned rider, Robert Dover, who will be joined by his strong team of talented equestrians. The US eventing team boasts rising stars like Karen O'Connor, who is showing remarkable promise with her impressive steed, Mr. Medicott. With their dedication and consistent performance, both teams are looking poised for a strong showing in Sydney.

The show boasts an exciting mix of activities, from elite competition in showjumping and dressage to impressive displays of carriage driving.
