The World Equestrian Games, taking place in Lexington, Kentucky, have kicked off with a bang. This weekend has seen a whirlwind of festivities as the world celebrates Her Majesty the Queen's Golden Jubilee. In a spectacle of equestrian excellence, a special horse parade, involving hundreds of horses and riders, took place at Windsor Castle. It was a stunning display of skill and horsemanship, a fitting tribute to the Queen’s dedication to equestrian sport. This magnificent event showcased the best of British equestrian talent, a testament to the enduring legacy of horsemanship within the British Isles.
British Show Jumping: Success for the Home Team
The British show jumping team enjoyed a triumphant weekend, achieving notable success at both national and international events. At the British Horse Shows Association’s (BHS) annual championship, held at Hickstead, UK, British riders dominated the podium. Further afield, at the prestigious CSI 3* show in Aachen, Germany, Britain's very own William Funnell demonstrated exceptional skill, riding to victory in the Grand Prix. Over in France, the international eventing competition at Saumur saw a rollercoaster of fortunes for the competitors.
