Show Jumping: Hickstead Takes Centre Stage

The Hickstead Derby, one of the most prestigious show jumping events in the world, kicked off today with the first round of competition. The iconic Derby course, with its towering hedges, ditches and water jumps, once again challenged even the most experienced riders.

British riders, naturally, dominated the leaderboard after the first round, with Geoff Billington, a regular fixture at Hickstead, sitting in top spot aboard his talented gelding, Dollar For Sale. The talented Nick Skelton was hot on his heels, but an unfortunate four faults at the final obstacle left him in third.

Across the Channel, the Dutch dominated the Grand Prix competition at the prestigious Jumping Amsterdam. Albert Voorn led the pack on his grey gelding, Let's Go, finishing the competition with just a single time fault. His compatriot Eric Lamaze, competing under the Canadian flag, secured a commendable second place with Special Ed.

Dressage: The Brits Shine at the Hartpury International Horse Trials

The Hartpury International Horse Trials saw a strong British showing in the Dressage competition, with several riders qualifying for the coveted top 10.

Mary King, renowned for her expertise, led the pack, securing the top spot aboard her formidable mount King's Theatre. Fellow Brit Caroline Powell proved a worthy rival, securing second with the striking grey mare The Tango.

Eventing: The Thrilling Battle at Luhmühlen

The German eventing contingent are putting up a fierce fight at the Luhmühlen Horse Trials, with Andreas Dibowski currently leading the field with his impressive stallion, FRH Butts Abraxxas.

However, it’s still anyone’s game. Clayton Fredericks from Australia, known for his precision riding, is sitting just behind Dibowski with his reliable mount Ben.
