European Jumping Scene Takes Centre Stage

The German Indoor Jumping Championships reached their peak this weekend in Stuttgart, with the much-anticipated Grand Prix final captivating the crowds. The final round saw Germany's Marcus Ehning claim a hard-fought victory with his magnificent horse, For Pleasure, snatching the coveted title from the reigning champion Ludger Beerbaum. This win makes Ehning the favourite heading into the upcoming World Cup qualifier in Dortmund.

In Belgium, the prestigious Jumping Mechelen came to an exciting close. British rider Nick Skelton, fresh off his impressive win in the 5* Grand Prix on the opening day, took second place in the concluding Queen Elisabeth Grand Prix, finishing just behind the reigning Olympic champion Eric Lamaze on his magnificent stallion Hickstead.

Across the Pond: American Dressage Champions Crowned

The US Dressage Finals held in Lexington, Kentucky, drew to a thrilling conclusion with an emotional win by the legendary Robert Dover. The highly-anticipated championship saw Dover, along with his new partner, the talented stallion Fidermark, demonstrate a truly mesmerising performance to secure the coveted title. His victory, combined with a strong showing by other US riders, gives a strong indication of the resurgence of American dressage at the highest level.

World Cup Fever Grips the Nation

In the UK, all eyes are fixed on the upcoming World Cup Dressage Qualifier scheduled for this weekend at Hickstead. British dressage superstar, Carl Hester, is leading the charge, riding both his championship horse, Uthopia, and the exciting young prospect, Nip Tuck, who recently impressed the crowds at the national championships. The competition is fierce, with the UK fielding a strong contingent aiming to book a ticket to the coveted finals in Gothenburg.

Looking Back: A Touch of History

This week we pay homage to a legendary figure in equestrian sports - the legendary showjumper David Broome. Sixty years ago this very month, Broome, then just a young rider, rode to an incredible victory at the Horse of the Year Show on his magnificent horse, Jet Set, securing the championship in a performance that is still etched in the minds of horse lovers everywhere.

On the Far Side of the World:

Australia's National Show Jumping Championships are in full swing in Sydney, with riders vying for the coveted title. Local favourite, Rowan Willis, currently sits at the top of the leader board on his powerful horse, Quasimodo Z.
